After neck cutting, heads need to be removed. Head removal can be carried out before
scalding or after picking according to processing preferences. We offer two different
head pullers.
This head puller efficiently removes the heads by catching them between two guide rails while the product is protected by an open outfeed. The machine is adjustable for varying flock sizes.
The Head Puller 2420 effectively removes heads and tracheas at high processing speed. Carcasses enter the machine by guide rails to ensure correct positioning, after which rotating carriers grab the heads and pull them down while the carcasses continue on the overhead conveyor. Immediately before driving heads downwards, knives perform a small skin cut on each side of the neck to best control the amount of neck skin left on the carcass. The Head Puller 2420 is designed with a unique unblocking system to maximize uptime. The rotating carriers not only ensure the correct positioning of each head but also make sure that the machine does not block up. All heads are forced downwards and away from the pulling plates. Furthermore, a water spray bar sprinkles water onto the guide rails for lubrication purposes and to keep the machine clean during production.
